Effective Ways to Manage Stress

One of the top pressing concerns around the globe is the effects of stress on the human body. Stress can be classified as either good or bad/ positive or negative. The types of good stress can include weddings, moving, new jobs, children graduating & living home, promotions, etc. There are numerous stressors that are categorized as negative. Negative stress can include (but not limited to): loss of loved one, loss of job, decrease in income, sickness/illness of self or family member, moving, etc. In order to manage the impact stress can cause, using self-care and relaxation techniques can be beneficial.

Effective ways to handle stress 

  • can include talking to counselor

  • loved one/trusted friend

  • exercise

  • goal setting,

  • spiritual engagement

  • yoga

  • meditation

  • dancing

  • warm bubble bath

  • drawing/coloring

  • reading a positive book

  • listening to uplifting music

  • water and/or nature activities

  • spending time with positive loved ones and friends

  • practicing gratitude

  • massage therapy
